The Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) gives enterprising women the knowledge, networks and access they need to launch and scale successful businesses. By promoting women’s economic opportunities and ensuring that women have the capabilities and resources needed to participate in the economy.
Program was launched in 2019 and its importance grew even stronger during the pandemic. Business & Professional Women CR (BPWCR) was selected as the only organization that implements this project in the Czech Republic from 2021 with the support of the US Embassy in the Czech Republic.
AWE uses a hybrid model that combines the online platform DreamBuilder (developed through a partnership between Arizona State University’s Thunderbird School of Global Management and global copper mining company Freeport-McMoRan) with in-class mentoring and facilitation. Through AWE, participants learn core business skills, then get together as a class to discuss the material with experienced implementers, local mentors. By the end of the Academy, every student has solid business plan in their hands and plan of further steps to develop their businesses.
In 2023 45 women entrepreneurs graduated from third Academy for Women Entrepreneurs in Czech Republic and joined thousands of AWE Alumni from more than 100 countries all over the world. AWE in Czech is one of the most successfull worldwide. We emphasize diversity of project accepted to the program as well as demographics od students.
Among the projects that benefited from AWE CR were for example: Filharmoniště, Výdejna chutí, Pražské zkratky, Progresko, Dárek na druhou, Češtinářské špeky, Piknikon, MamiGYM, Zamlsej, WE Agency, Rodina cestuje, Dřevohračka, Anela, TimTomHaf, Vestibul Interiér, Krafťáci, TooMoms, Shoeker, Kulturní centrum Řehlovice, Givili, and many more.
With more than 130 alumni, AWE in Czech Republic is creating big, supportive community of women entrepreneurs. Coming fall 2023 we will be launching AWE Alumni Club to further develop potential of this amazing group of strong, hardworking women.
